Mohamed Salah has vowed to never forget his Liverpool highs regardless of what his future entails.

The Reds forward sees his long-term future up in the air. He has less than a year remaining on his contract and Salah would be eligible to open talks with foreign clubs as soon as January.

Should the Egyptian leave, it would bring to an end a legendary spell with Liverpool. Signed from Italian giants Roma in 2017, Salah has scored 221 goals for the club - leaving him fifth in the Anfield all-time standings.

In the time since, he has helped Liverpool to their first-ever Premier League crown, the Champions League, FA Cup and many other trophies. And Salah has promised never to forget those memories - even if he moves on at some point in the near future.

Speaking in a club media video alongside team-mates Alisson and Andy Robertson, he said: "The thing I appreciate the most is the time when I go every morning and I see the guys and share unbelievable moments, especially us three plus Virgil [van Dijk] and Trent [Alexander-Arnold], the senior group.

"When Bobby [Firmino] left, for example, you realise everybody will leave one day so I don't take that for granted. When I go [to the training ground], I always try to have a laugh with them and spend good time together. In my head, I always remember the good things we had together."

Salah’s long-term teammate Firmino left Anfield in 2023 following a memorable eight-year spell. He joined Saudi outfit Al-Ahli on a free transfer, scoring 14 goals in 49 appearances in all competitions since then.

Salah’s comments are not the only hint that he has dropped over recent weeks. He also suggested that he could potentially leave Anfield after netting in the Reds’ recent victory against Brighton.

Taking to social media, Salah wrote: “Top of the table is where this club belongs. Nothing less. All teams win matches but there’s only 1 champion in the end. That’s what we want. Thank you for your support last night. No matter what happens, I will never forget what scoring at Anfield feels like.”

Salah’s agent has also spoken out recently but stopped short of confirming the forward’s future. Taking to Twitter earlier this week, Ramy Abbas Issa claimed that Salah was the “best player in the world ”.

Salah has enjoyed a brilliant start to the new season. He already has ten goals to his name in all competitions this term.
